All Things Red: A Wedding Affair

Updated: Feb 14

What better way than to focus on All Things Red than on Valentine’s Day. This season couples come together to celebrate by adorning their loved ones with flowers, chocolates, fancy dinners, or a small getaway. Oh yes, how can we forget ENGAGEMENTS & WEDDINGS! Not only does red represent the color of passion, romance, and intensity, but it appears to be a popular choice for a wedding. Contrary to what one might think, red is being incorporated in all seasons, not just Valentine's Day or even Christmas.

Just recently, Reality Stars Safaree & Erica Mena from Love& Hip Hop New York recently tied the knot incorporating their favorite color, RED. The couple's Wedding Planner/Designer Elle Audrey New York @elleaudreynewyork captured their vision by designing an elegant affair by implementing thousands of red roses imported from Argentina (@NycFlowerProject) and a captivating tablescape. Safaree & Erica Mena's luxurious wedding was beautifully executed with an amazing red floral dance floor by Got to Shout (@gotoshout), red drapery by Perez Events (@perezevents), complete with a one of a kind sweetheart table. Untold Stories Weddings & Events by Schehera has a few design elements of our own that will assist brides utilizing red as their color scheme. See Event Designs below:

Romantic Red & Gold

Red and Gold give us a WOW factor. It takes your guests on a romantic journey with elevated and lower lush red roses or a blend of red hydrangeas with the roses. We would suggest having estate tables with mirrored tabletops that reflect gold candelabras, long stem floating candle holders, clear chargers with gold trim followed by gold votive candles. Additionally, we suggest that our couples incorporate red napkins and amber upstage lighting to complete the look for their ballroom. It would even be a nice element to incorporate the color design in your invitations (It sets the tone for your wedding).

Red, Black & White

We have seen this color scheme for quite some time, but we want to take it up a notch. Here we would suggest couples use Black Sequin, Baroque Black & White Satin linens, or have a combination of both strategically arranged within your event design. Red elevated and lower floral arrangements, black or red glass reef chargers with black napkins, various size cylinders on the table, and clear votive candle holders. Followed by red rose petals arranged on the tables. What type of experience do you wish for your guests to have? We believe having a custom red rose flower wall that highlights the couple's last name "The McKinley's" for your guest's enjoyment before and during your wedding.
